- Is my data backed up anywhere?
- All your decks and review history live entirely on your device. There is no cloud backup in the current version. We recommend using iCloud device backups to protect your data.
- Does Stele collect any personal data?
- No. Stele has no accounts, no analytics, and no network access. Everything — including text-to-speech — runs on your device. See our privacy policy for details.
- Can I import my existing Anki or Pleco decks?
- Yes. Stele supports importing Anki (.apkg) and Pleco XML files from the Import screen inside any deck.
- How does the spaced repetition work?
- Stele uses FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler), a modern algorithm that adapts to your memory. Cards are scheduled based on how well you recall them, with intervals that grow as your retention improves.
- Something isn't working. What should I include when I write in?
- Your device model, iOS version, and a description of what you were doing when the issue occurred. Screenshots are always helpful.
